Biography

James Taylor is a dedicated American politician who serves as a Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing the 29th district. He assumed office on January 13, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 11, 2027. Taylor’s journey into politics began after he retired from Arizona Public Service, where he had a long and successful career. His involvement in Republican politics spans over a decade, but it wasn’t until 2024 that he decided to run for office. This decision came after Republican leaders in Legislative District 29 approached him to consider running for the district’s House seat following the withdrawal of Rep. Austin Smith.

Taylor’s political career took off when he won the general election on November 5, 2024, alongside incumbent Steve Montenegro. They defeated Democratic candidates Tanairi Ochoa-Martinez and Thomas Tzitzura. Taylor’s victory marked the beginning of his commitment to serving the people of his district and advocating for their needs and concerns.

As a lifelong conservative Republican, Taylor is passionate about several key issues. He strongly believes in parental control and the protection of the nuclear family. He is also an advocate for developing clean sources of energy and promoting economic growth and prosperity. Taylor’s vision for economic prosperity is rooted in the belief that every American should have the opportunity to achieve the American dream, where each generation does better than the previous one.

In addition to his legislative duties, Taylor serves as the vice chair of the House Education Committee. He is also a member of the Ways and Means and Public Safety committees. His work in these committees allows him to address critical issues related to education, economic policies, and public safety, furthering his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents.

Taylor’s political stance includes opposition to mandates for electric vehicles and vaccines, as well as concerns regarding election integrity. His conservative values and dedication to his community have made him a respected figure in Arizona politics. As he continues to serve in the Arizona House of Representatives, Taylor remains focused on his goals of fostering economic growth, protecting family values, and ensuring the well-being of his district’s residents.
