Biography

James Hubert Bilbray (born May 19, 1938) is a former Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from the state of Nevada. He represented Nevada’s 1st Congressional District and served four terms in Congress. Bilbray held office as a U.S. Representative from January 6, 1987, until January 3, 1995.

During his tenure in the House, Bilbray served as a representative for Nevada at the federal level, participating in the legislative process on behalf of his constituents in the 1st District. His service in Congress spanned the late 1980s and early 1990s, a period marked by significant national and international developments, during which he contributed as a member of the Democratic Party. After leaving office in 1995, he became a historical member of Congress from Nevada.
