Jacob Koppel Javits (born May 18, 1904) was a Republican senator from New York who served in the United States Congress from January 3, 1947, to January 3, 1981. A historical member of Congress, he represented the state of New York in the Senate and was affiliated with the Republican Party throughout his federal legislative career.
