Haseeb Fatmi serves as a Democratic Senator for District 18 in the North Carolina state legislature.
Haseeb Fatmi was appointed to the North Carolina Senate by Governor Josh Stein on May 21, 2026, after being nominated by local Democratic Party leaders to complete the term of former Senator Terence Everitt, who resigned. District 18 includes parts of Granville and Wake counties. Fatmi is an attorney and serves as of counsel at the Ogletree Deakins law firm in Raleigh. He graduated from William G. Enloe High School, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009, and received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 2012. Before joining the Senate, he was elected to the Wake Forest Board of Commissioners in November 2025.
