Gregory Sargent is a Democratic Party member serving in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He represents Merrimack District 7, having assumed office on December 4, 2024. His current term is set to conclude on December 2, 2026.
A native of New Hampshire, Gregory Sargent has deep roots in the Granite State. He is a proud product of the local public school system and an alumnus of the University of New Hampshire and Boston University School of Law. His career has been dedicated to community betterment, with extensive experience in legal and business fields. From 2012 to 2019, he worked as an insurance adjuster and later as an in-house attorney for a New Hampshire-based insurance company, where he tackled complex legal and financial challenges.
In 2019, Gregory co-led his family-run business, Lamont, Hanley & Associates, Inc., alongside his sister. Under his leadership, the company, based in Manchester Millyard, grew to employ sixty individuals and earned recognition as a “Best-Place-to-Work” in collections. As the Chief Legal and Strategy Officer, Gregory has been instrumental in addressing rising costs such as property taxes, housing, childcare, and health insurance, while ensuring employee success and maintaining profitability.
Gregory’s commitment to public service is evident in his legislative priorities. He focuses on supporting workers, protecting the environment, and advocating for the rights of all Granite Staters, including marriage equality, privacy, and reproductive autonomy. His pragmatic approach to problem-solving and dedication to common-sense solutions make him a respected figure in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
