Frances Vinell Jackson is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing the 45th district, which includes portions of southwestern Cumberland County. She assumed office on January 1, 2023.
Frances Jackson earned a B.S. in business and economics with a minor in transportation from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She also holds an M.A. in political science from Fayetteville State University, and a Ph.D. in public policy and administration, specializing in law, from Walden University.
Before her political career, Frances Jackson worked as a middle school teacher, a political science adjunct professor, and a community and transit planner for the Cumberland County Metropolitan Planning Organization. Her dedication to education and community development is evident in her professional background.
In the 2023-2024 session, Frances Jackson was assigned to several committees, including the Appropriations Committee, the Appropriations on Capital Committee, the State Government Committee, the House Transportation Committee, and the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee. Her work in these committees reflects her commitment to various aspects of public policy.
Frances Jackson’s tenure as a representative has been marked by her dedication to her constituents in District 45. She is running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 45, with the general election scheduled for November 5, 2024.
