Eric Wimberger is a Republican member of the Wisconsin State Senate, representing District 2. He assumed office on January 6, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 3, 2029.

Born on April 2, 1979, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Eric Wimberger grew up in the nearby city of De Pere. He pursued his undergraduate studies at St. Cloud State University, earning a degree in criminal justice in 2001. Following this, he attended Marquette University Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2005. After completing his education, Wimberger served in the United States Marine Corps as a Judge Advocate, achieving the rank of captain before being honorably discharged in 2010.

Returning to Wisconsin, Wimberger established his own law practice in Green Bay. His career also includes experience as a long-haul truck driver, bartender, and factory worker, showcasing his diverse professional background. In addition to his legal career, he is involved in his family-run candy store in Lakewood, Wisconsin.

Wimberger’s political journey began with his first campaign for public office in 2014, when he ran for the Wisconsin State Assembly. Although unsuccessful in his initial attempts, he persevered and eventually secured a seat in the Wisconsin State Senate. His dedication to public service and his community has been a hallmark of his career.

In the Senate, Wimberger has been an active participant in various committees, including the Finance Committee and the Judiciary and Public Safety Committee. His legislative efforts reflect his commitment to addressing the needs of his constituents and contributing to the betterment of Wisconsin.
