Eric L. Householder was born on June 5, 1968, in Baltimore, Maryland. His parents, Robert Dale and Judith Anne Householder, raised him with a strong sense of community and public service. Eric’s educational journey led him to Shepherd College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Later, he pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Frostburg State University, enhancing his knowledge and skills.

In his personal life, Eric is married to Maxine M. Householder. Together, they form a supportive partnership. Eric also plays a significant role in the lives of his stepchildren—Jamie D. Collyer, Charles J. Higgins, and Kayla E. Higgins—and dotes on his grandchildren—Bailey A. Crouser, Gabriel A. Delgado, Haylee E. Higgins, and Israel Delgado.

Professionally, Eric is a small business owner, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to economic growth. However, it’s his political journey that has left a lasting impact on West Virginia. He became a Republican member of the West Virginia House of Delegates in 2010 and continued to serve until 2020. During his tenure, he held several notable positions, including Chair of the Committee on Finance during the 84th Legislature and Vice Chair of the Committee on Finance during the 83rd Legislature. Additionally, he served as Vice Chair of the Committee on Health and Human Resources during the 82nd Legislature.

Eric Householder’s affiliations extend beyond the political arena. He is associated with organizations such as the National Rifle Association (NRA), the West Virginia Citizens Defense League, the Eastern Panhandle Business Association, the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), and Americans for Tax Reform. These affiliations reflect his commitment to conservative values and limited government.

On a personal level, Eric is a member of the Vanville Church of Christ, where he finds spiritual fulfillment and community.
