Biography

Edward Kimble Valentine (born June 1, 1843) was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from Nebraska. He represented Nebraska’s 3rd Congressional District and served three terms in Congress. His tenure in the U.S. House began on March 18, 1879, and concluded on March 3, 1885, marking a six-year period of federal legislative service.

During his time in office, Valentine served as a Representative for Nebraska at a time when the state was still in the earlier phases of its development within the Union. As a Republican, he participated in the national legislative process on behalf of his district and state. He left Congress as a former member after his service ended in 1885.
