Edward Buttrey, a member of the Republican Party, is currently serving in the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 21. He assumed office on January 7, 2019, and his current term ends on January 6, 2025. Prior to this, he was a member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 11 from 2011 to 2019.
Buttrey earned his B.S. in electrical engineering from Montana State University in 1989. His professional experience includes working as an emergency medical technician, rescue diver, fire captain, western manager at Connector Technology, weapons system IPT PMPT engineer, operator at Buttrey Realty, president at Cable Technology, and operator at JoBEL Inc.
He has served on various committees throughout his tenure, including the Business and Labor Committee, Human Services Committee, and House Rules Committee. Buttrey is a 4th generation Montanan, residing in Great Falls, MT. A former weapon’s systems designer, he now owns businesses in real estate development, manufacturing, high tech, retail, restaurant, casino, resort, and economic development industries.
