Biography

Doug Bankson is a member of the Republican Party and is currently serving in the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 39. He assumed office on November 8, 2022, and his current term ends on November 5, 2024. He is also running for re-election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 39 and has declared his candidacy for the Republican primary scheduled on August 20, 2024.

Doug Bankson was born in Altadena, California, and now resides in Apopka, Florida. He earned a bachelor’s degree in theology from Life Christian University in 2011, a master’s degree in theology from the same university in 2012, and a doctorate in divinity from the School of Bible Theology Seminary and University in 2015.

In addition to his political career, Doug Bankson has also founded a ministry and worked as a pastor. He has lived in Apopka for 30 years and is the founder and senior pastor of Victory Church World Outreach Center. He has also served as a board member and past chairman for the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce. He has been on the Apopka City Council for six years and has built a strong relationship with the community.

Doug Bankson won the seat in the 2022 Florida House of Representatives election, defeating Democrat Tiffany Hughes. He and his wife, Jeri, are also pastors at Victory Church in Apopka. They have four children: Benjamin, Joseph, Michael, Victoria “Tori” and two grandchildren: Elliana “Elli”, Ezra.
