Biography

Donna M. Soucy, born on September 7, 1967, is an American attorney and a prominent member of the Democratic Party. She has been serving in the New Hampshire Senate since 2012, representing the 18th district.

Before her tenure in the Senate, Soucy served three terms as a State Representative. She also held two terms as a Manchester Alderman and nearly four terms on the Manchester School Board. Notably, she was the first female chair of the Manchester Fire Commission.

In the Senate, Soucy has held several leadership positions. She served as the President of the New Hampshire Senate from December 5, 2018, until December 2, 2020. She became the minority leader in December 2020.

Throughout her political career, Soucy has been part of various committees. She has served on the Senate Commerce, Election Law and Municipal Affairs Committee, Rules and Enrolled Bills Committee, and the Joint Fiscal Committee.

Soucy’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Saint Anselm College and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law.

Her current term in the New Hampshire State Senate ends on December 4, 2024.
