Biography

David Sieck, a member of the Republican Party, is a representative in the Iowa House of Representatives for District 16. He assumed office on January 1, 2023, and his current term ends on January 1, 2025. Prior to this, he served in the Iowa House of Representatives for District 23.

David Sieck was born on June 27, 1957, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He is a farmer by profession and has also worked as a real estate agent with Jim Hughes Real Estate. He has been a founding board member of Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy (SIRE) and Western Iowa Energy. He has served as the president of the Iowa Corn Growers Association and as a committee member of the National Corn Growers Association. He has also been the vice chair of the Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee. In addition, he has been affiliated with Glenwood Optimists and the Mills County Economic Development Foundation.

In terms of legislative assignments, Sieck has been assigned to various committees over the years. For the 2023-2024 term, he was assigned to the House Agriculture Committee, Economic Growth Committee (as Vice Chair), Labor Committee, and House Transportation Committee. In the 2021-2022 term, he was assigned to the House Agriculture Committee, Economic Growth Committee, Information Technology Committee (as Vice Chair), and House Ways and Means Committee. In the 2019-2020 term, he was assigned to the House Agriculture Committee (as Vice Chair), Natural Resources Committee, House Transportation Committee, and House Ways and Means Committee.

David Sieck ran for re-election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 16 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
