Biography

David Huot was born in Laconia, New Hampshire, on April 4, 1942, to parents J. Oliva Huot and Irene R. Huot. He received his early education at Sacred Heart School and Sacred Heart High School in Laconia. David went on to earn an A.B. from St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH, in 1964, and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC, in 1967.

David began his legal career at the law firm Normandin, Cheney & O’Neil in Laconia, NH, where he practiced from 1967 to 1979. He was appointed as a Justice of the Laconia District Court by Governor Hugh Gallen, serving from May 1, 1979, to June 30, 2008, and continued as a retired judge until 2012.

David married Patricia A. Hawkins on August 8, 1981. Patricia passed away on March 17, 2002. He later married June M. Russell on November 5, 2004, and is a stepfather to her children, Rebecca A. Russell and John A. Russell.

David has a long history of public service. He served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1970 to 1974, from 2012 to 2014, and from 2016 to 2020. He was elected once again to the NH House on November 8, 2022. Additionally, he served as a Call Firefighter/EMT with the Gilford Fire Department from 1970 to 1982.

David Huot represents the Laconia Wards 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
