Biography

David M. Cannon is an American attorney, businessman, and politician serving as a member of the Idaho House of Representatives from the 30th district. He assumed office on December 1, 2020.

David was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho. He comes from a construction business family and graduated from Blackfoot High School. After high school, he served a church mission in Argentina.

He pursued his undergraduate studies from Brigham Young University where he majored in economics. He then obtained his law degree from the University of Utah College of Law.

After graduating from law school, David has worked as an attorney and operated a reclaimed wood business. He is a part owner of Trestlewood, a reclaimed wood business.

David is also a member of the Blackfoot Rotary Club and served as its president from 2013 to 2014. He is the race director of Wolverine Canyon Marathon/Half/10K/5K/1K, raising money and awareness to fight cystic fibrosis.

He is an avid participant in sports and enjoys basketball, running, tennis, and disc golf.

David and his wife, Lisa, have four children: Justin, Tyler, Rachel, and Scott. They are also blessed with three grandchildren: Haylee, Avery, and Wesley.
