Biography

Dave Yacovone was born in Massachusetts and moved to Morrisville, Vermont. Dave is retired and married to Deborah Eastman Yacovone, and they have two sons, Seth and Evan. Dave graduated from Johnson State College and spent his 45-year career in Vermont working in health and human services. His professional career included working as a licensed Nursing Home Administrator for 16 years and in Vermont State Government, including Commissioner of Aging and Disabilities in the Dean Administration and as Commissioner for Children and Families in the Shumlin Administration. Dave has served a combined 40 years of civic experience as a Town Moderator, Select Board Member, School Board Member, Justice of the Peace, Assistant Judge, and Planning Commissioner. His past civic service includes serving as Trustee for Lamoille Home Health, Lamoille Mental Health, and Copley Hospital. He currently is a Trustee for the Manor Nursing Home and Lamoille Health Partners. Dave served in the Vermont General Assembly representing Hyde Park and Wolcott from 1993–94 and 95–96 and from 2017–2022 for the Lamoille-Washington District. He was reelected in 2024 to serve in the upcoming 2025–2026 Biennium.
