Biography

Daniel Shagoury is a member of the Democratic Party and currently represents District 55 in the Maine House of Representatives. He assumed office on December 7, 2022, and his current term ends on December 4, 2024.

Shagoury ran for election to the Maine House of Representatives to represent District 55 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. He defeated Phillip Wiseman in the general election for Maine House of Representatives District 55.

Shagoury lives in Hallowell, Maine. He earned a B.A. in history from Colby College in 1982 and an M.A. in international relations from George Washington University in 1987. His career experience includes working as a legislative aide with the Maine State Legislature.

In addition to his political career, Shagoury is an active community member. He has served on the Board of the Hubbard Free Library for 13 years. Previously, he served nine years on the SAD 16 School Board as a representative for Hallowell and eight years on the board of directors for the nonprofit Consumers for Affordable Health Care.

Shagoury is currently serving his first term in the Maine House of Representatives and sits on the Health and Human Services Committee.
