Biography

Danny Alvarez is an American politician who serves as a Republican member for the 69th district of the Florida House of Representatives. He assumed office on November 8, 2022.

Born as Daniel Antonio Alvarez in Miami, Florida, he has a rich educational background. He attended the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. He then went on to Troy University to earn his Master of Science (MS) degree in Education. Furthering his education, he attended Stetson University College of Law and the University of Miami School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Laws (LLM) degrees respectively.

Before his political career, Alvarez served in the United States Army. He also worked as a lawyer, bringing a wealth of experience to his role as a representative.

In August 2022, Alvarez defeated Megan Petty in the Republican primary election for the 69th district of the Florida House of Representatives. In the general election held in November 2022, he defeated the incumbent Andrew Learned of District 59, winning 57 percent of the votes. He succeeded Linda Chaney, who was redistricted to District 61.

Alvarez is a Florida native and has been involved in the community for over 20 years. He is a member of both the Riverview and Plant City chambers of commerce. His current term ends on November 5, 2024.
