Biography

CURT TAYLOR of Colchester, Chittenden County, was born into a military family in Fort Monmouth, NJ. The family moved from NJ to Greece to Ft. Bragg, NC, to Japan to Bridgeville, PA, before settling in Concord, MA. Received a BA in Political Science/Philosophy from Beloit College, Beloit, WI, and accepted a position as a fifth-grade teacher in Essex Junction, VT. Worked in a variety of occupations ranging from dairy farm hand in Brattleboro, Colchester, and Norway to newspaper reporter in Valdez, AK, and childcare worker in Portland, OR. Married a dairy veterinarian in Brattleboro. Received a BS in Computer Science from Washington State University. Worked for IBM in Boulder, CO, then West Virginia University, then University of Helsinki in Finland. Moved to Puyallup, WA, and Litchfield, MN, before settling in Colchester, VT. Worked part and full-time as a database programmer with various departments at UVM. Recently retired to devote energies to Colchester School Board and Vermont State Legislature.
