Biography

Corley Ellis is an American politician who has served as a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives since first winning election in 2016. Born in 1971, Ellis is a native of Columbiana, Alabama. He is a real estate agent by profession and is the owner of Ellis Property Inc, a real estate brokerage firm.

Ellis’ educational background includes a BS degree in business administration which he earned from Auburn University in 1993. He furthered his education at the same institution, earning an MBA degree in 1995.

His political career began when he served as Shelby County Commissioner for District 1. On October 18, 2016, Ellis won the special election in District 41 in the Alabama House of Representatives, replacing Mike Hill. He assumed office on October 20, 2016.

Ellis ran for re-election to the Alabama House of Representatives to represent District 41 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His current term ends on November 4, 2026.

Over the years, Ellis has been assigned to various committees including the Fiscal Responsibility Committee, Insurance Committee (where he served as Vice Chair), Shelby County Legislation Committee, Ways and Means Education Committee, and the Reapportionment Committee. He was also part of the Joint Legislative Committee on State Parks.

Ellis is married to Julie Harris Ellis and they have a son. The family resides in Shelby County, Alabama.
