Biography

Personal Life: Clayton Wood has been married for 45 years to his wife, Rachel. They have three daughters, all of whom were homeschooled. He holds a Ph.D. from MIT, which he earned in 1979.

Career: Before entering politics, Clayton Wood had a successful career in engineering. He served as a Vice President of Engineering, where he gained experience in new product development and release through manufacturing and marketing.

Political Involvement: Clayton Wood’s political journey began in 2008 when he was elected as a member and chair of the Pittsfield Planning Board. He served in this role until 2021. From 2011 to 2013, he was an elected member and chair of the Pittsfield School Board. He has also been involved in managing the Pittsfield School Website since 2009.

Awards and Recognition: In 2015, Clayton Wood was honored with the Spirit of New Hampshire Award for his long-time volunteer service to the Pittsfield School District.

Other Involvements: Apart from his political career, Clayton Wood has been the Treasurer and Director of the Pittsfield Historical Society since 2008. In 2022, he joined the Advisory Board of the Benjamin Franklin Academy.
