Chuck Smith, a member of the Republican Party, represents District 3 in the Kansas House of Representatives. He assumed office on January 11, 2021, and his current term ends on January 13, 2025.

Born in Atchison, Kansas, Smith has a rich educational background. He earned a B.S. in Mathematics, an M.A. in Physical Education, and an Ed.S. in Administration, all from Pittsburg State University.

Before his political career, Smith worked as an educator, athletic director, and head football coach. His dedication to service extends beyond his professional life as he has volunteered with the Knights of Columbus, Kansas Coaches Association, and the board of the Kansas Teachers Community Credit Union.

In his tenure as a representative, Smith has been assigned to several committees. In the 2023-2024 term, he served on the Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications Committee, Financial Institutions and Pensions Committee, General Government Budget Committee, and Higher Education Budget Committee. In the 2021-2022 term, he was assigned to the Children and Seniors Committee, Elections Committee, Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications Committee, and Insurance and Pensions Committee.
