Charles Wesley “Chuck” Clemons Sr. was born on June 21, 1957, in Miami Beach, Florida. He is an American politician who has served in the Florida House of Representatives from the 22nd district since 2016. He assumed the role of Speaker pro tempore of the Florida House of Representatives on November 22, 2022.

Clemons completed his AA from Florida Gateway College in 1977 and earned a BS from the University of Florida in 1979. He lives in Newberry, Florida, with his spouse Jane Clemons, originally from Cincinnati, OH. They have four children: Shayna, Charlie, Travis, Weston, and grandchildren: Christian, Jack, Henry.

Before his political career, Clemons worked as the vice president of advancement and communications of Santa Fe College and as a chartered financial consultant. He also served as the president of the Florida Council for Resource Development of the Florida College System and on the board of the Florida State Fair Authority.

In the 2022 general election, Clemons ran for re-election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 22. He won the general election on November 8, 2022, defeating Brandon Scott Peters. His current term ends on November 5, 2024.

Throughout his tenure, Clemons has been assigned to various committees including the Health & Human Services Committee, Pandemics & Public Emergencies Committee, Public Integrity & Elections Committee, House Rules Committee, and the Ways and Means Committee. His contributions to these committees have been significant in shaping the policies and laws of the state.
