Biography

Chris Morrow grew up in Manchester Center and has lived in Weston for over 20 years. After college, he joined the Peace Corps in Thailand. He then got a master’s degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan. After a few adventures, he ended up back in Manchester running the family business, Northshire Bookstores, until 2021. Chris is a graduate of the Snelling Center for Government’s Vermont Leadership Institute and has been a hands-on promoter of Vermont interests for many years, including serving as the founding President of Local First Vermont, an organization dedicated to strengthening Vermont by keeping money circulating in our communities. He also served on the boards of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility as well as two local school boards—Flood Brook (public) and Long Trail (independent). He is a voting member of the Vermont Community Foundation. He has served on both the planning commission and select board in Weston. On the national level, Mr. Morrow serves as President of the Board of the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC).
