Cheikh A. Taylor is an American politician who has been serving as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives from the 38th district since 2017. He was elected in 2016 and assumed office in 2017.

Taylor was born in Columbus, Mississippi and raised in Starkville, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Howard University.

In addition to his role in the Mississippi House of Representatives, Taylor was elected Chair of the Mississippi Democratic Party on July 6, 2023, in an emergency meeting. This appointment came following the resignation of former Chairman Tyree Irving.

During his tenure in the House, Taylor has served as the vice chair of the County Affairs Committee. He has also been assigned to various other committees including the House Congressional Redistricting Committee, House Education Committee, Legislative Reapportionment Committee, and House Universities and Colleges Committee.

Taylor ran for re-election to the Mississippi House of Representatives to represent District 38 and won in the general election on November 7, 2023. His current term ends on January 4, 2028.

In his personal life, Taylor is a father of two children.
