Biography

Chedrick Greene serves as a Democratic Senator for District 35 in the Michigan state legislature.

Chedrick Greene was sworn in to the Michigan Senate on May 21, 2026, after winning a May 2026 special election for the 35th District seat left vacant when Kristen McDonald Rivet resigned to join Congress. The district includes parts of Bay, Midland, and Saginaw counties. Greene was born in Saginaw and attended Northwood University. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1994 to 2024, reaching the rank of sergeant major, and worked as a fire captain with the City of Saginaw Fire Department. He also served as a district assistant to then-Senator McDonald Rivet, and Governor Gretchen Whitmer appointed him to the Statewide Housing Partnership in 2023.
