Caleb Joshua Ness born July 15, 1999 is an American politician from Republican Party currently serving as a member of the Maine House of Representatives for District 82, encompassing Brownfield, Fryeburg, Lovell, Hiram, and Porter. A member of the Republican Party since 2022, Ness holds the distinction of being the youngest legislator in Maine and one of the youngest state legislators in the United States.

Early life and education Born on July 15, 1999, in Fryeburg, Maine, to Erick and Melanie Ness, Caleb has an elder sister. His father serves as a pastor at Center Conway Baptist Church in Center Conway, New Hampshire, and manages Clear View Window Cleaning. Melanie Ness, his mother, works at Christmas Tree Shops and is a church pianist leading the Junior Church for children. Caleb Ness pursued his education at Hyles-Anderson College, a private Baptist college located in Crown Point, Indiana.

Career Presently, Caleb is employed as a concrete reinforcing steel fabricator.

Politics Caleb Ness has harbored a passion for politics for an extended period, actively engaging in public discourse since 2020. In the 2022 Maine House of Representatives election, he emerged victorious in the general election held on November 8, 2022, defeating Nathan Burnett (D). He assumed office on December 7, 2022, and his current term is set to conclude on December 4, 2024. Caleb currently serves on the Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement, and Business committee.
