Kerry “Bubba” Underwood is a member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 3. He assumed office on November 9, 2022, and his current term ends on November 4, 2026. Underwood ran for election to the Alabama House of Representatives to represent District 3 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Underwood was born in Sheffield, Alabama. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama in 1990. His career experience includes owning Underwood & Associates CPA and working as a CPA for NortonUnderwood PC. Underwood served as mayor of Tuscumbia, Alabama.

In the 2023-2024 term, Underwood was assigned to the following committees: Boards, Agencies and Commissions Committee, House County and Municipal Government Committee, and Financial Services Committee.

In the general election for Alabama House of Representatives District 3, Underwood defeated Wesley Thompson. He received 65.3% of the votes, totaling 8,023 votes. Wesley Thompson received 34.5% of the votes, totaling 4,241 votes. There were also 23 other/write-in votes.

Underwood has been a certified public accountant since 1998 and launched his own firm in 2004. He won a bid for mayor of Tuscumbia in 2016 and went on to an uncontested reelection in 2020.
