Biography

Brandei Schaefbauer is an American politician born in Mobridge, South Dakota. She earned an associate degree in surgical technology from Presentation College. Her career experience includes working as a real estate broker.

A wife and mother, Schaefbauer is a Republican. She describes herself as pro-life, pro-family, pro-constitution, and a defender of the Second Amendment. Schaefbauer’s interest in the political process began when she served as a legislative page for state Sen. Jim Stoick, R-Mobridge, in 1992.

She was first elected in 2022 and has represented South Dakota’s 3rd legislative district as a Republican since 2023. Schaefbauer is a member of the House Transportation Committee and the House Health and Human Services Committee.
