Blair Eddins is a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 94. Eddins was appointed to the seat in the fall of 2024 and took office on October 1, 2024, filling the remainder of the term of Jeffrey Elmore, who resigned in September 2024 after an unsuccessful run for lieutenant governor. Eddins had already won the Republican nomination for the seat in the March 2024 primary, finishing first in a four-candidate field, and was elected to a full term in November 2024 with about 77 percent of the vote over Democrat Steve Moree. The district covers Wilkes County and part of Alexander County.1
Eddins comes from a North Carolina farming family and studied agriculture at North Carolina State University, graduating in 1995 with degrees in agricultural business management and field crop technology. Before entering the legislature, Eddins worked as an auditor, farmed grain and tobacco, and owned businesses in grading, landscaping and real estate development. Eddins has also worked for Samaritan’s Purse, the relief organization based in North Wilkesboro.
In the 2025-2026 session, Eddins serves as House Majority Freshman Whip. Committee assignments include Agriculture and Environment; Appropriations; Appropriations, Agriculture and Natural and Economic Resources; Rules, Calendar, and Operations of the House; and Wildlife Resources. Eddins also sits on the House select committees on Government Efficiency and on Helene Recovery, which addresses rebuilding in western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene, and on the Joint Legislative Emergency Management Oversight Committee. Eddins has described limited government, education, economic growth and resistance to federal overreach as priorities.
