Biography

Bill Tveit is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He has been serving in the North Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 33, since December 1, 2018.

Before his political career, Tveit was a retired farm equipment owner and dealer. He served in the US Army from 1968 to 1971. He has held several leadership roles in his community, including Chair of the Mercer County Commissioner, Chair of Dakota Central Social Services, and President of the North Dakota John Deere Dealer Group.

During the 65th session, he served as the Senate Deputy Sergeant at Arms and was the Vice Chair of the Interim Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee. He is also a member of the Interdenominational Riverdale Community Church.

Tveit lives in Hazen, North Dakota. He is married to Laurel Tveit and they have three children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

In terms of education, Tveit attended the North Dakota State College of Science.

As a legislator, Tveit has been active in various committees. In the 68th Legislative Assembly - Regular Session (2023), he was a member of the House Industry, Business and Labor Committee and the House Agriculture Committee.

Tveit ran for re-election to the North Dakota House of Representatives to represent District 33 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His current term ends on December 1, 2026.
