Berry Forte is a member of the Democratic Party and has been serving as a representative of the Alabama House of Representatives for District 84 since November 3, 2010. His current term is set to end on November 4, 2026.
Forte has run for re-election to the Alabama House of Representatives to represent District 84 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His professional experience includes working for American Buildings in Eufaula.
Throughout his tenure, Forte has been assigned to several committees. For the years 2023-2024, he was assigned to the Commerce and Small Business Committee and the Ethics and Campaign Finance Committee. In the years 2021-2022, he served as the Ranking Member of the Commerce and Small Business Committee and the Economic Development and Tourism Committee. He also served on the Ethics and Campaign Finance Committee during this time. In the 2019-2020 legislative session, he was the Ranking minority member of the Commerce and Small Business Committee, the Economic Development and Tourism Committee, and the Ethics and Campaign Finance Committee.
In the 2015 legislative session, Forte served on the Economic Development and Tourism Committee and the Ethics and Campaign Finance Committee. In the 2011-2012 legislative session, he also served on several committees.
Forte was born on October 26, 1937, and resides in Eufaula, Alabama. He is a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He is married to Lillie and they have two children, Mentil and Larry.
