Biography

Benjamin Pixley Birdsall (born October 26, 1858) was a Republican politician who represented Iowa in the United States House of Representatives in the early twentieth century. Serving as a member of Congress from Iowa’s 3rd District, he held office as a U.S. Representative from November 9, 1903, to March 3, 1909. Over the course of his congressional service, Birdsall completed three terms in the House.

During his tenure, Representative Birdsall served as part of the Republican delegation from Iowa at a time of significant national political and economic change. Although specific committee assignments and legislative initiatives are not detailed in the available record, his six years in office placed him within the federal lawmaking process during a formative period for both his party and his state.
