Biography

Ben Thomas Moss Jr. is a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives. He has been representing the 52nd district, which includes all of Richmond County and a southeastern portion of Moore County, since 2021.

Moss is a lifelong resident of Rockingham, North Carolina, and a graduate of Richmond Senior High School. His career experience includes working as an engineer with CSX. In 2010, Moss was the first Republican elected to the Richmond County Board of Commissioners and held that seat for three terms until his election to the North Carolina House of Representatives.

In the North Carolina House of Representatives, Moss has been assigned to several committees, including the Appropriations Committee, Appropriations on Transportation Committee, Commerce Committee, Local Government Committee, Local Government - Land Use, Planning and Development Committee, House Transportation Committee (where he served as Vice Chair), and Wildlife Resources Committee (where he served as Chair).

Moss assumed office on January 1, 2023, and his current term ends on January 1, 2025. He is running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 52. The general election is scheduled for November 5, 2024.
