Biography

April Fleming Miller, born on October 5, 1970, is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. She represents District 4 in the Maryland House of Delegates. Her district is located in Frederick County, Maryland.

Miller was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in November 2022 and has been a member since January 11, 2023. She is currently serving on the Ways and Means Committee and its Education Subcommittee. She is also a member of the Election Law Subcommittee and Women Legislators of Maryland.

Before her political career, Miller was an at-large member of the Frederick County Board of Education from 2010 to 2018. She also served on the Board of Trustees for Frederick Community College in 2020.

Miller was born in Washington, D.C. She graduated from Middletown High School in Maryland in 1988. She then attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where she earned a B.A. in Biology/Psychology in 1992. She furthered her education at Salus University, where she received her Doctorate of Optometry in 1996.

In her personal life, Miller is married and has three children. She continues to work as an optometrist.
