Representative Annie E. McDaniel is a Democrat who represents District 41, which includes Chester, Fairfield, and Richland Counties. Born on May 28 in Winnsboro, she is the daughter of Mary Kennedy McDaniel and the late Eddie McDaniel. McDaniel holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina (1982) and a Masters in Public Administration (1991).

Before her political career, McDaniel worked as a retired Accounting, Tax, and Public Administration Consultant. Her commitment to public service extends beyond her legislative role. Notably, she was the first African American woman elected to the South Carolina General Assembly from her district since Reconstruction. During her first year in office, she achieved the distinction of passing a bill—a significant accomplishment.

Representative McDaniel serves on several committees, including Education and Public Works, as well as Operations and Management. Her dedication to community and leadership roles is evident through her involvement with organizations such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the S.C. School Boards Association, and the S.C. Caucus of Black School Board Members.
