Anne Gay Donworth, born on May 16, 1983, is an American politician who has been serving as a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives since January 1, 2025. She represents the 76th district, which includes part of Fayette County. Donworth was elected unopposed in the 2024 Kentucky House of Representatives election following the retirement of incumbent representative Ruth Ann Palumbo. She defeated two other candidates in the May Democratic primary election.

Donworth was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. She earned her high school diploma from Groton School and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in 2007. She furthered her education by earning a degree from Indiana University, Purdue University Indianapolis in 2015. Before entering politics, Donworth had a successful career as a nonprofit executive.

Throughout her career, Donworth has been actively involved in various organizations. She has been affiliated with the Lexington Public Library, the Lexington Public Library Foundation, Scarteen Stud, Emerge Kentucky, Commerce Lexington, the Kentucky Public Library Association, and the Clays Spring Neighborhood Association. Her dedication to public service and community involvement has been a hallmark of her career.

In the 2024 Democratic primary for the Kentucky House of Representatives District 76, Donworth received 44.4% of the votes, defeating James Palumbo and Joshua Buckman. She went on to win the general election unopposed, securing 100% of the votes. Donworth’s commitment to her constituents and her passion for public service have made her a respected figure in Kentucky politics.

Donworth’s personal life is equally fulfilling. She is married and has two children. She is an Episcopalian and has been an active member of her community. Her dedication to her family and her faith has been a source of strength and inspiration throughout her career.
