Biography

Anna Moeller is a dedicated public servant and a full-time legislator who has been serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives since March 31, 2014. She represents the 43rd district which includes all or parts of Elgin, Barrington Hills, Carpentersville, East Dundee, and South Elgin.

Before her tenure in the Illinois House of Representatives, Anna Moeller served on the Elgin City Council and as Executive Director of the McHenry County Council of Governments. She was named an Edgar Fellow in 2012. Her commitment to public service is also evident in her past roles as a member of the City of Elgin Planning and Development Commission and Human Relations Commission, former Vice-President of the Northeast Neighborhood Association, former volunteer ESL tutor for the Elgin Literacy Connection, and former Treasurer for the Channing Elementary School PTO.

Anna Moeller graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in History and MPA in Public Administration. Her educational background and experiences have equipped her with the knowledge and skills to effectively serve her constituents and make informed decisions on their behalf.

Since taking office, Anna Moeller has championed legislation on pay equity for women and people of color, pension reform, environmental protection, access to healthcare, and that advance LGBTQ equality. She is a member of several Illinois House committees including the Appropriations - Human Services Committee (Vice-Chairperson), Elem Sec Ed: Adm., Lic. & Charter, Energy & Environment, Health Care Licenses, Human Services (Chairperson), Public Utilities, Clean Energy Subcommittee, Teacher Policy & Research (Sub-Chairperson), and Wages & Rates Subcommittee (Sub-Chairperson).

Anna Moeller is married and has two children. She continues to be an active member of her community and strives to make a positive impact through her work in the Illinois House of Representatives.
