Biography

Anita Burroughs is embarking on her third term in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Carroll District 2, which includes Jackson, Bartlett, Hale’s Location, Hart’s Location, Chatham, Albany, and Sandwich. She has been a resident of Bartlett for over 30 years, after previously living in Franconia for several years.

Professionally, Anita has managed the marketing and operations of a national healthcare consulting firm founded by her husband, Jonathan. Together, they have two adult stepchildren and two grandchildren. In her legislative career, Anita has served on the Judiciary Committee and the Commerce and Consumer Affairs Committee.

Anita served as a member of the Bartlett Zoning Board of Adjustment from 2017 to 2019.

Miscellaneous Information

Anita holds a BA from Brandeis University (1971) and an MBA from Boston College (1982). She has been deeply involved in community service, including her work with Starting Point: Services for the Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence, where she was a member from 2011 to 2016 and chair from 2013 to 2016. Additionally, she was a founding board member of the Conway Area Humane Society, serving from 2003 to 2011 and chairing the board for six years.
