Biography

Angelito Tenorio is a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 14th Assembly District. He assumed office on January 6, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 4, 2027.

Born on June 30, 1996, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Angelito Tenorio grew up in the suburb of West Allis. His parents, who immigrated from the Philippines, instilled in him the values of hard work and community service. Both were union postal workers, which gave Angelito a deep appreciation for the importance of good-paying union jobs and the power of collective action. He graduated from Marquette University High School in 2014 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2017. During his college years, he also served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard from 2015 to 2018, further demonstrating his commitment to service.

Angelito’s political journey began early. While still in college, he ran for a seat on the Dane County Board of Supervisors in 2016. Although he did not win, the experience fueled his passion for public service. After graduation, he worked for the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters and joined the campaign staff of Tom Palzewicz, a congressional candidate. In 2019, Angelito successfully ran for a seat on the West Allis City Council, where he served from 2020 to 2022. During this time, he became a prominent advocate for progressive causes, including combating climate change, supporting affordable housing, and championing racial justice and LGBTQ+ rights.

In addition to his political career, Angelito has been deeply involved in community organizing and education. He has worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he taught courses on community organizing, coalition building, and social change. His dedication to making a difference extends beyond his professional life, as he has been an active leader in various civic and political organizations.
