Biography

Andrew Mathews is an American politician and member of the Minnesota Senate. He is a member of the Republican Party of Minnesota and represents District 15 in central Minnesota.

Born in 1987, Mathews graduated with a Juris Doctor from Oak Brook College of Law, an unaccredited correspondence school. He is a pastor and works as a congressional veterans’ caseworker.

Mathews was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2016. He has been serving as a senator since January 3, 2017, and he succeeded Dave Brown. He has been re-elected in 2020 and 2022, and he is currently serving his 3rd term.

Mathews lives in Princeton, Minnesota. He is married to Elsa and they have two children.

In his role as a senator, Mathews has served on various committees including Elections, Energy, Utilities, Environment, and Climate, and Human Services. He has also authored several bills during the 2023-2024 Biennium Regular Session.

Mathews has served various counties including Anoka, Benton, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Sherburne, and Wright. His dedication to his work and his constituents has made him a respected figure in Minnesota politics.
