Born and raised near Colville, Washington, Andrew Engell has deep roots in his community. His early life was shaped by a strong work ethic, as he gained experience in various fields such as construction, welding, farming, and rental property management. Engell and his wife operated a certified organic vegetable farm for seven years, showcasing their commitment to sustainable agriculture and local food systems.

Engell’s career in public service began with his role as deputy district director for Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers. In this capacity, he traveled extensively across Eastern Washington, engaging with individuals, small businesses, local government officials, and community organizations. His work provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by his constituents.
