Amy Grant is an American politician who is currently serving as the Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 47th district. The district, located in DuPage County, includes all or parts of Carol Stream, Lisle, Warrenville, Wheaton, Winfield, West Chicago, and Naperville.

Amy Grant was born on May 12, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois. She is married to Jim Grant and they have two children. They have been residents of Wheaton, Illinois for more than 20 years.

Before her political career, Amy Grant was a teacher in both parochial and public schools in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She also has experience in management and sales in the private sector. She earned a B.S. in education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980.

Amy Grant began her political career as a member of the DuPage County Board. She then served as the representative of the 42nd district in the Illinois House of Representatives from January 9, 2019, to January 11, 2023. She assumed her current office in the 47th district on January 11, 2023.

During her tenure, Amy Grant has been a member of several committees in the Illinois House of Representatives. These include the Adoption & Child Welfare Committee, the Human Services Committee, the Judiciary - Criminal Committee, the Mental Health & Addiction Committee, and the Museums, Arts, & Cultural Enhancements Committee.

Amy Grant’s term in the 47th district is set to end on January 8, 2025. She is running for re-election in the Republican primary on March 19, 2024.
